But she gave up her own career, to sing with John. The coloured lady is Vanetta Fields. Who had her own band, Vanetta's Taxi. A notable band on the Australian scene. She also gave up her band work, in order to sing with John Farnham. This is how much he is respected, not only by the public, but also within the industry. As a matter of fact, when Freddie passed, the first person Queen turned to was John Farnham. John refused the offer. Because it would take him away from his family to much. A position that the band respected.😊

This was from the concert in Central Park in 1981 where they played to a crowd of a HALF MILLION people. One of, if not the, largest concert audiences in history. Having heard it, now you know why this is one of the most beloved songs ever written and performed. It's almost like the theme song for an entire generation. This song was released the year I was born, and I grew up listening to it. The same year the Beatles first came to the U.S..
